Only a few of Stanistawa Nowicka’s textile designs have been preserved: a few black and white photos, one piece of fabric from the late 1940s, and a fabric motif appearing on the interior design of the Carolina Country Club. From these archival documents, emerge patterns: simplified floral motifs, decora- tive shells, horse heads interwoven with ribbons, meander-ing lines. These expressive shapes, soft lines, graphic rhythms make their presence felt in interiors. The design practices of Stanistawa Nowicka and Maciej Nowicki intertwined and complemented each other, which is why the pattern proposed by Alicja Bielawska contains visual references to the projects of both architects.
